A curious fable unfolds
VULTURES – scanning the earth down below
DOVES – a symbol of peace, love and hope
BUTCHERS – just want to cut out your throat
Migrating north to the Caspian Sea
Driven to fulfill its feathered destiny
Various levels of flight
VULTURES – return to their roost every night
DOVES - at weddings, released to the sky
RAPTORS – just want to peck out your eyes
Forging its way through the valley of kings
Soaring away on illustrious wings
Higher and higher… empty nest
Flying and flying… emptiness
Wondrous is the mockingbird; it sings its song so sweet
Magical, the mallard as it traipses on webbed feet
17,000 feet IN THE AIR
Searching for something TO EAT
Eyesight attuned to FAVORITE FOODS
Preferably rotten meat
Especially rotten meat AND FRUIT
Doves are a different breed
Feeding on nuts and SEEDS

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae

Quite a departure from the wild territories they ventured into with their major label releases. So far, the greatest thrash metal I've heard released in the 2020's. Plus, it's not everyday you hear Rhea Perlman on a metal record. t0cktock

Abigail Williams has had a weird career with hiatuses and lineup changes, but they have finally perfected their sound on Walk Beyond the Dark. This album has such a refreshing and natural feeling that makes it one of the top atmospheric black metal albums of recent years. Ryan
